Supporting Individuals to Move More
Overview: Active Dorset delivers a free interactive online webinar packed with information to help you encourage others to move more, including national guidelines for physical activity levels, the health benefits of moving more and national and local resources to signpost individuals to.
Audience: The training is relevant for individuals who are having conversations with the adult public in a professional or voluntary capacity. This would include staff working in a healthcare setting, social prescribers and volunteers working in a voluntary, community, or social enterprise.

RSPH Level 2 Award in Supporting Behaviour Change
Overview: This qualification will provide learners with the knowledge, confidence and skills to support individuals who are thinking of making a health behaviour change.
Audience:This qualification is for any individuals who are interested in helping others develop a healthier lifestyle by encouraging physical activity. Suitable for community activity providers, local authority workers, social prescribers, and health coaches.
Delivery type: In person
Duration: 2 days

Supporting Individuals to Move More - eLearning
Overview: Active Dorset has created a series of bitesized 20 minute e-learning modules packed with information to help you encourage others to move more, including national guidelines for physical activity levels, the health benefits of moving more and national and local resources to signpost individuals to. The series can be viewed at a time that suits you.
Audience: The training is relevant for individuals who are having conversations with the adult public in a professional or voluntary capacity. This would include staff working in a healthcare setting, social prescribers and volunteers working in a voluntary, community, or social enterprise.

This Mum Moves Ambassador Training
Audience: Any professionals working with pregnant and postnatal adults, including but not limited to health visitors, midwives, physiotherapists, GPs, social prescribers, health coaches, community support officers and volunteers, and fitness professionals.
Overview: A half day training course that will equip professionals with the knowledge, skills and confidence to discuss physical activity during pregnancy and after childbirth. Learners who complete the course will be provided with access to a digital toolkit to support conversations and further learning. It will also provide participants with the resources to facilitate the promotion of physical activity, including cascade and promotional materials.
Delivery type: Online via ZOOM

BMJ Learning | Physical activity in the treatment of long term conditions
Overview: Through BMJ learning online, medics can access nine e-learning modules that highlight the importance of physical activity, with detailed evidence-based summaries on specific conditions including cancer, diabetes and mental health.

Health Education England | Physical activity and health
Overview : This e-learning programme prepares GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals to champion the benefits of physical activity with their patients and, in doing so, help prevent and manage a range of common physical and mental health conditions.
The programme comprises of 3 short introductory sessions, sessions exploring people's changing needs across the life course and specific health conditions (cancer, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, musculoskeletal health and mental health).
Audience:All healthcare professionals

Duration: 11 e-learning modules - each module lasts approximately 20-25 minutes

Physical Activity Clinical Champion Training
This training option is temporarily unavailable.
The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre will lead a consortium with the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine and Intelligent Health to run the Sport England-funded Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) Programme.OHID and Sport England are collaborating with the consortium to transition the programme to its new home and are expecting disruption to deliver. No bookings will be taken until the new systems and processes are in place.

Moving Medicine | Active Conversations
Overview: Active Conversations is a practical, evidence-based online learning course developed by clinicians, for clinicians that teaches you how to have quick, effective and positive conversations that encourage patients to do more physical activity.
Audience: Healthcare professionals.
Active Conversations is for anyone who wants to study motivational interviewing in the context of physical activity. The course has previously attracted consultants, social prescribers, physiotherapists, midwives, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, dermatologists, dieticians, GPs, nursing assistants, community exercise officers and other professionals.
Delivery type: Flexible online learning
Duration: There are two courses available, a Foundations course, accredited with 6 CPD points and a Full course which incorporates Foundations and is accredited with 16 CPD points.
