Bournemouth and Poole councils along with Active Dorset and Sport England are refreshing the Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) for each Borough. The PPS aims to ensure there is a good supply of high quality playing pitches and playing fields to meet the sporting needs of local communities.
Active Dorset invite all Bournemouth & Poole schools to complete the survey here.
This work seeks to understand what capacity, quality and availability there is for pitch-based sports and will inform future local/national investment and form a part of local planning policy.
As the pitch provision on school sites plays an important part in the local provision, Colin Johnson from Todd associates who is working on behalf of both Boroughs, may contact your school in January or Early February. Colin will be seeking some information on the pitches at your school and their use, and Active Dorset would be very grateful if schools try to help with this process and support the wider policy development.
