Our main objective is to support change in systems and behaviours amongst leaders, organisations and individuals to reduce inactivity levels across the County, making Dorset a place for people to enjoy an active lifestyle.

My role is to build relationships with our key stakeholders embedding a whole system approach to address inactivity in Dorset. My main responsibility is to lead our health work programme and the development of a county wide physical activity strategy.

Some key objectives;

  • Supporting the Chief Executive and our board to fulfil the strategic objectives of Active Dorset
  • Offering leadership and supporting continuous development of the team

I lead on Slades Park and similar projects in addressing inactivity and community facilities, plus being responsible for workforce development and safeguarding. I also supporting other staff and the organisation strategy as part of my role as a member of the Senior Management Team.

In my spare time try to maintain an NGS garden and chair local cricket club.

My main responsibility is to lead on our work with Children and Young People, and as a member of the Senior Management Team to support the development of our team and the delivery of our strategic priorities.

Active Dorset have been commissioned by the National Academy for Social Prescribing, to deliver the 'Thriving Communities Programme' across the South West.

My role is to support VCFSE organisations, groups and communities to increase their knowledge, understanding and networks within the world of social prescribing and community support.

A key part of my role is to work with contacts in primary and secondary care supporting them to promote physical activity as part of their service.

My role involves identifying and developing opportunities to embed physical activity into cancer, falls and frailty pathways by working with our partners across Dorset. I will also manage the planning and delivery of a suite of physical activity training courses aimed at both healthcare professionals and volunteers upskilling individuals to have conversations about physical activity.

I lead on our work to create Active Workplaces in Dorset to promote staff health and wellbeing. I also work with Primary Care Networks to embed physical activity to support population health management for adults and children, and help to promote nature-based health opportunities.

My role is to help promote the work of Active Dorset, identifying and interacting with our target audiences and establishing meaningful relationships with stakeholders and policy makers. I am covering Georgie whilst she is on maternity leave.

Some key areas of my work include maintaining the company website, managing social media profiles for Active Dorset and all sub-brands and assisting and advising project managers to identify and support marketing needs for their programme areas.

I facilitate a variety of outdoor sports as a groundsman at our Redlands site, through maintaining our grass pitches, artificial surfaces and the site as a whole.

My role at Redlands is to prepare and maintain the grass and artificial sports surfaces, this is mainly football pitches, 3G and cricket square. Also, to keep the whole site looking tidy and presentable for other users of the facility.
