The Dorset Leadership Academy celebrates it's 10th year

This year, we were delighted to celebrate the 10th Year of the Dorset Leadership Academy at Bryanston School, in Blandford, welcoming hundreds of children and young people from Schools across Dorset.

The Dorset Leadership Academy, funded by Active Dorset, offers a wide range of leadership opportunities for children and young people in primary, middle, secondary and special schools across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and Dorset.

The event at Bryanston saw more than 500 young leaders from 32 schools across the county participate in a variety of workshops delivered by partners and athlete mentors and aimed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to act as sport and physical activity champions within their schools.

We were fortunate to be joined by three inspirational athlete mentors during the day; Aaron Phipps MBE, a Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby athlete, and Gold Medal Paralympian; Jamie Barrow, the world's fastest snowboarder; and Kate Grey, former paralympic swimmer and broadcaster.

Programme lead Daniel Moody, commented "Sport and play have never been so important, and young people have enormous potential to lead change for each other by creating positive experiences to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and young people."

We'd like to thank Bryanston School for hosting the Dorset Leadership Academy, and to Daniel Moody and the entire team who made the day possible.
