Public Health England's Physical Activity Clinical Champions holding Twitter takeover
Posted: Tue, 27 Jul 2021 14:57
The Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACCs) are taking over the @AHPs4PH Twitter page from Monday 26th July to Friday 30th July. The PACCs will be sharing the latest training, advice and tips with the healthcare community on how to have frequent and quality conversations with patients about physical activity.
The AHPs4PH is a community of practice for allied health professionals interested in public health. The takeover will be taking place to coincide with the relaunch of PHE's Better Health campaign.
The PACCs will be using the takeover to:
- Highlight the role of physical activity in managing and preventing common conditions.
- Introduce the PACC network and raise awareness of the peer-to-peer training that they deliver to healthcare professionals. The network delivers one to three-hour online training to groups of HCPs, giving them the knowledge and confidence to discuss physical activity with patients.
- Encourage allied health professionals to sign up for peer training and access additional training and resources, so that they can provide up-to-date advice and support to patients.
- Celebrate the role of allied health professionals in addressing inactivity. To mark the launch of PHE's Better Health campaign, we want to hear how the healthcare community is keeping active and how they are supporting patients to keep active.
