PE and Sport Premium Underspend Deadline Extended to 31st July 2021

The Department of Education (DfE) have postponed their 31st March 2021 deadline for the roll-over funding from 2019-20. Now both the roll-over funding and the premium funding for 2020-21 need to be spent and reported on by the 31st of July 2021.

It is highly recommended that schools use the afPE/YST template as a working document, to record what they have used the premium for. The report will help schools to document the intent, implementation, and impact of their spend as the academic year progresses.

For schools who are anxious about the amount of premium left to spend this academic year, please view '7 Top Tips' for the premium here. Capital expenditure is not a permitted use of the premium by the DfE, which we know is a real concern for many schools in BCP and Dorset.

Further guidance on the PE and Sport Premium can be found here.

Please contact Active Dorset urgently via ahargreaves@activedorset.org if you require advice or an impartial check of your expenditure for this academic year.

Covid-19 Support Resources for the PE and School Sport Premium

In line with the PE and sport premium key indicators, the Youth Sport Trust has highlighted resources and training which can support schools with investment of their premium, and with any underspend, on the recovery from Covid-19. They have also created a bespoke package of YST resources to help schools.
