The latest set of Active Lives results from Sport England shows that inactivity has decreased (by 2.5%) in Dorset and subsequently, activity levels have increased (3.2%).
The latest report presents data from the Active Lives Adult (16+) Survey for the period mid-May 2018 to mid-May 2019 and provides data relevant to our new local government restructure for the first time.
We can reveal that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole has seen a 5.1% increase in activity and a 4.3% decrease in inactivity, whilst the Dorset Council area has seen a 1.1% increase in activity and a 0.6% decrease in inactivity (compared to baseline data from November 2015).
The previous local authority area, West Dorset, showed the biggest reduction in inactivity in the latest survey, showing inactivity had reduced by 3%.
