Location: Active Dorset SCITT Room, Bournemouth Learning Centre, BH10 4HG and Dorset CCG Vaspasian House, Dorchester and Public Health Dorset, Princes House, Dorchester
Fixed Term Contract: To 31st January 2021
Reports to: Chief Executive
Active Dorset is a community interest company who aim to increase participation in Sport and Physical Activity amongst the population of Dorset. We are working in partnership with Public Health Dorset, Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group and Sport England to deliver a nationally prominent programme focussed on system change leading to a large-scale uplift in the activity levels of 55 to 65 year olds. The programme reaches across the County-wide Sustainability and Transformation Plan and is intended to deliver outcomes and learning that could be replicated nationally.
The programme will look to tackle inactivity at scale and help deliver against the 5 government outcomes highlighted in the Towards an Active Nation Strategy.
We are seeking a Project Manager who can bring energy, focus and rigour to the programme. Knowledge of local Healthcare services and partners will be important as well as a wider understanding of other public-sector organisations and services. We are open minded about previous experience required as we are aware that the breadth of the programme is significant, this role could suit a secondment from one of the public-sector key or wider partners.
Main Job Purpose:
To co-ordinate the Living Well and Active in Dorset project including supporting partners in large scale system change, reviews, change management initiatives and the implementation and development of new policies and business processes.
We aim to influence in excess of 20,000 people to become more active using a number of methods to influence change in their sedentary behaviour. The programme seeks to remove barriers in various systems (Healthcare, Large employers and Community) , so that choosing an active lifestyle is easy and seemingly the natural choice for currently inactive or fairly-active residents.
Delivery of impact at the scale anticipated is a significant challenge and will require excellent communication and ongoing support from a wide range of partners, especially Public-Sector organisations, and managing those relationships will be fundamental to the success of this role.
Closing date for applications is 5pm Friday 16thMarch with interviews taking place in the week of 26th March 2018.
