Dorset was represented by 24 teams from across the county with over 120 competitors at the Level 3 School Games. It was an excellent day of high level competition.
Active Dorset & the School Games Organisers would like to thank RELAYS students from Bournemouth University and Lychett 6th Form students for being the leaders on the day. The leaders were highly praised by all the staff, the organisers and the pupils for their high level of umpiring, general enthusiasm and organisation.
Gemma one of the leaders said "I have been made Team Captain for a team of competitors, as a member of staff is away and I have really enjoyed supporting and organising the team. Helping them out when they are not sure of the scoring system".
Lilijan and Poppy, Blandford School Students, were competitors in the girls competition & said " It has been great to play different schools from around the area, it is so well organised and the standard is very high"
Tywnham teacher, Natasha Goddard, was impressed with the atmosphere at the tournament and commented that it was a pleasure to see so many young people participating in the competition. She felt the young leaders umpiring were excellent.
A good day was had by all with close competition and the 'Spirit of the Games' values in use throughout the day. We would like to give a special thank you to Roy Carder for being the main organiser of the tournament and Nadine Lapskas the Head teacher of LeAF who provided the School Games with such an excellent facility and spared time to present the medals to the winners.
Congratulations to all the competitors!
