Broadstone FC is located in the centre of Broadstone and supports many community events during the year. These include the Broadstone Family Fun Day and the Football Club End of Season Tournament. Both these events are jam packed with fun and entertainment for all the family and well supported by the residents of Broadstone. It is estimated that approximately 3000 people attend the Broadstone Family Fun Day, and 2016 was the fifth time this annual event has taken place.
Broadstone FC plays an important role in these community events by running the tea bar and BBQ. This is always a welcome attraction for the hungry customers but is only made possible by the hard work and tireless efforts of the dedicated club officials. At this year's event, the club raised over £2000.
The football club have won an Aviva Community Fund award which will enable the club to purchase two BBQs to help continue with the existing support it gives to the Broadstone community. This will avoid the need to hire BBQs, which is the current arrangement, thereby generating more profits. The profits raised during the Family Fun Day go to the Broadstone Fields in Trust Association to help with the presentation, promotion and usage of Broadstone Recreation Ground, also known as Plainfield Farm Recreation Ground. Profits generated at club events are re-invested back into the football club to enhance the experience for the growing membership.
Broadstone Recreation Ground is not only the home of Broadstone FC, but a popular location for local dog owners to exercise their pets. It is also a clean and safe large open space for families to enjoy. The pavilion located on the site is open at weekends during football training and matches, serving a variety of refreshments to both supporters and the wider community who are passing through.
