Young People Inspired at Dorset School Games

Tuesday 8th November saw lots of fun, smiles and fabulous table tennis skills from the next generation as 5 schools (Park School, St Martin's, Branksome, Winton and St Joseph's) entered boys' and girls' teams into the Under 11, Level 2 Table Tennis School Games event hosted at Harewood College.

Organised by the Dorset Table Tennis Centre and Dorset's School Games Organisers, the event gave 50 young boys and girls the opportunity to get a full day of activity. The participants were also given the chance to be inspired with an exciting exhibition match between Dorset Table Tennis Head Coach and former England International, Matt Ware and Bournemouth Premier Division player and former Harewood College student, Finn Morgan-Bayliss.

The morning session provided plenty action with participants practicing their balls skills with various hand-eye coordination exercises and fun games. The afternoon competition got underway with Park School favourites for the title, having won the boys team national title the year previously. They didn't disappoint and came away with the gold in both the boys and girls categories with St Martin's taking silver. Branksome took the Bronze in the boys and Winton the Bronze in the girls.

Park School will go onto represent Dorset in the ESTTA Zone Finals in Plymouth on the 15th January, good luck Park School!
