Job Title: Events and Programmes Officer
Salary: £20,000 actual pro-rata (FTE ~£24,000) + pension, expenses & resources
Hours: Full time, (minimum 37.5 hours per-week), term time only - fixed term until 31st August 2020
Base / Location: Hot-desk at Bramcote College, work across Broxtowe district, remote working as agreed
Responsible To: Physical Activity Network Manager
Responsible For: Event leaders, volunteers, and casual staff


Job Purpose:
- To assume responsibility for the Broxtowe Active Schools events and activities programme.
- Design, develop, and implement programmes and projects as agreed with the Activity
Network Manager.
- Provide high-quality experiences for all participants, with opportunity to develop
transferable life skills, and increase transition from school activity; to sustained physical
activity within a community setting.
- Support the Activity Network Manager in the implementation and delivery of the School
Games Organiser Task list.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, coordinate, lead, and deliver the BAS events and activities programme
(personal challenge, intra-school, inter-school, link to county finals, CPD events, workshops,
celebration events, and other initiatives).
- Event delivery responsibilities will include extensive operational duties, including
transportation of equipment, and on-day facilitation.
- Design, develop, and implement programmes and projects as agreed with the Activity
Network Manager.
- Develop & implement appropriate monitoring and evaluation processes; assessing impact
and value of events and programmes, and adapting based on learning.
- Maintain relationships with PE coordinators, sports coordinators, teaching staff, and other
school staff; providing relevant support, advice, and guidance.
- Initiate, grow, and maintain sustainable links with local, regional, and national stakeholders
(e.g. community sports clubs, county activity partnership, national governing bodies).
- Ensure appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures are in place across all areas of BAS
work, including appropriate risk-assessments for all activities.
- Coordinate a workforce of young leaders, volunteers, and casual staff; ensuring appropriate
training, support, and deployment opportunities.
- Support the Activity Network Manager in the identification, recruitment, and development
of individuals and groups, to develop a sustainable workforce.
- Maintain an awareness of local, regional, and national sports initiatives, and be able to
advise schools and stakeholders as appropriate. Examples include:
o School Games Mark
o PE & School Sport Premium
o Application of Physical Education, School Sport, and Physical activity within the
Ofsted assessment framework
o School Sports Action plan and national objectives
o Funding sources
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Physical Activity Network Manager, to achieve
the aims and vision of the Broxtowe Active Schools Network.

professional development opportunities as appropriate.
