About Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer Apprenticeship

The successful applicants will be employed to promote physical activity, support the delivery of high quality physical education lessons for children aged 4-11 which could include breakfast, lunchtime and after school physical activity sessions. Over the 16 month period you will spend up to 24 hours per week working with children and young people. The rest of the working week will involve training and development, including tutor led workshops and assignments that are required for the completion of your apprenticeship qualifications.

You will be required:

  • To inspire children and young people to be active
  • To ensure all children have a positive experience
  • To prepare, deliver and evaluate well-structured and progressive PE and physical activity sessions programmes, ensuring a high quality, enjoyable experience centred around the needs of the participants
  • Maintain appropriate planning and participation records
  • Complete risk assessments
  • To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst children, prioritising access and inclusion
  • Manage children's behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment
  • To carry out duties in accordance with the Aspire and awarding organisation policies, including equal opportunities, child protection and health and safety
  • To attend appropriate professional development
  • To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children to participate in sport and physical activity
  • To be a positive ambassador for the Aspire Active Education Group brand and demonstrate our company values
  • Assist with promoting Aspire products and services

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade A-C in Maths and English (Desirable)
  • GCSE Physical Education or Level 2 (or above) NVQ/ BTEC in Activity Leadership or Sport
