Coaching Courses & Workshops

Active Dorset's Coach Education Programme includes developmental courses for existing qualified coaches, new coaches and teachers and teaching assistants. It also has generic courses for deliverers seeking to meet minimum stands in Safeguarding and First Aid.

BOX Instructor (England Boxing)

Date: Sat, 21 Oct 2017 (10:00 - 17:00)

Location: St Joseph's College, Upper Redlands Rd, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 5JT

BOX is a new fitness experience devised by England Boxing coaches who have worked with the best boxers in the country.

Participants gain all-over body conditioning while learning the techniques used by Olympic boxers to succeed in the ring.

Classes incorporate many different elements of boxing training, such as partner pad-work, skipping, punch bags and shadow boxing, ensuring participants get a great overall cardiovascular workout; developing core strength, co-ordination and fitness.

1st4sport Level 2 Award in Multi-Skills Development in Sport

This qualification is designed to provide benefit to you through the skills and knowledge required to enable you to understand participants and their needs, develop your knowledge of multi-skills development in sport and prepares you to demonstrate practical coaching skills in the context of the fundamentals of movement, fundamental movement skills and fundamental sports skills.

UK Coaching Behaviour Change Tactics Workshop

Sport creates a good experience but it’s the people that change lives.

How do we, as people, help an individual to make that change? How do we encourage them to develop and maintain the motivation to stay in our sport or to stay active...for life?

Every coach needs to be a good people person, and learning behaviour change tactics will help you significantly hone those softer skills.

Time to Listen is a three hour workshop for Club Welfare Officers (CWO). CWOs must have attended a Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop previously and will need to bring their own reporting procedures to the workshop.

Suffolk Sport is delighted to be working with The Wright Foundation to offer a Level 4 Cancer Rehabilitation qualification.
Aims of the Cancer Rehab. course:
This practical course will empower exercise professionals to guide individuals with cancer to a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle which will maximise their chance of living better and longer. The course material is based only on reliable, established and published research from around the world, written with the help of patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds by an experienced cancer team which specialises in lifestyle and exercise research by the course author Professor Robert Thomas.

UKCC Level 1 Course (Table Tennis England)

The UKCC Level 1 qualification will provide learners with the necessary skills to be able to plan and deliver basic table tennis coaching activities/sessions.

England Netball Sharp Shooting workshop

The course will examine the technique of shooting and the associated game strategies linked to this position namely, shooter rotation, balance, ‘T’ position and the support of attacking players on the circle edge.
