Examples of Our Work
Here are some case studies showcasing our recent work.
We strive for physical activity to be recognised for the positive impact it has through improved physical and mental wellbeing, educational attainment, social cohesion and economic development on the lives of the people in Dorset.
Dorset School Games Move it Week celebrated sport and physical activity and saw over 160 Dorset Schools and 50,000 children register to take part.
In 2021 Active Dorset was awarded an element of the national Opening School Facilities (OSF) Fund to help schools in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole (BCP) and the wider Dorset area to open their facilities.
Active Dorset is pleased to be able to share some of the progress from year one of our systems change approach to embed physical activity.
Active Dorset reached out to network of partners when we were informed of the Tackling Inequalities Fund to see if we could utilise their networks to reach swiftly the targeted under-represented groups.
At the core of Active Dorset’s engagement with low levels of physical activity is the development of a volunteer workforce within the county.
