What is Snowshoeing?

Snowshowing is essentially hillwalking on snow.

Snowshoes are worn to stop you sinking in soft snow, and to give you grip if the snow is hard or icy. Snowshoes adjust to almost any boot size, and are very easy to walk in. After a quick fitting, most people are comfortable on their snowshoes.

One of the benefits of snowshoeing is that it does not require technical ability or previous experience unlike skiing for example. Almost anyone can do it without instruction or time spent practising.
