Exercise to Music for beginners to exercise and people over 65

Ideal for active and able ladies and gentlemen wanting to improve / maintain general health and strength.
During the first half of the session we:
> warm up
> do cardiovascular exercise to music
> cool down

During the second half of the session we do:
> muscle strengthening exercise using: small hand weights, ankle weights and resistance bands
> abdominal exercises
> pelvic floor exercises
> balance and co-ordination exercises
> flexibility stretches
> learn how to get down and up from the floor safely so that we can keep playing with the grandchildren!

We also arrange social activities.

Ideal for people with reduced balance and mobility who wish to improve health, strength and independence.

Wheelchair users and carers welcome

Sessions begin with a warm up followed by exercises to help improve mobility, flexibility, muscle strengthen and endurance, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, balance and coordination; we end with a cool-down.

No exercises are performed lying on the floor and no participant is required to get onto the floor. However, participants are shown how to get down and up from the floor safely so that they know what to do should the need arise.

Each class is structured, begins with a 10-minute warm up called ‘The Flow’ designed to stretch and release fascia, improve circulation and lymph flow. Dance and slow exercise segments are alternated to provide a gentle aerobic workout, focusing on specific problems, such as shoulder mobility, back health and strengthening.
