Introduction to Cycling
For anyone who is completely new to cycling and anyone needing a confidence boost to get back on a bike. The velodrome's tarmacked and grass areas (not the banks!) are the ideal place to learn how to ride and learn all the basics of using your own bike in complete safety without any prior knowledge with our welcoming instructors. Register online, minimum number 8 persons. Minimum age 5 years.
Introduction to Track Cycling
Designed for those more competent cyclists who want to experience the fun and excitement of learning to track cycle under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Track bikes are provided. Register online, Minimum number 8 persons, minimum age 7 years.
Regular weekly sessions for riders between 7 and 16 years, including holiday courses.
Open to all cyclists accustomed to using a track bike, managed by one of the local cycling clubs. Register with club.
Sessions booked by organisations (schools, community clubs, Companies etc.) only open to that organisation, organised and run by an experienced instructor for the participants to experience track cycling.
The velodrome hosts events throughout the year. These include British Cycling events & Open Track Competitions. Contact the listed event organiser for details.
To cycle the track league you must be an experienced user of a track bike within a velodrome setting. The track league at Bournemouth takes place June -August on Friday evenings. For further details, please contact Richard Eastham:
