Dorset County FA Mentoring

Dorset County FA are launching a new exciting initiative aimed at up-skilling and developing coaches across the County.

Using the expertise of FA mentors/tutors, coaches will access instruction and knowledge from experts in specific groups; for coaches working with:

- 12 to 16 year olds

- Adults

This pilot project will commence in early 2012 giving the coaches involved a huge opportunity to develop as a Football Coach with their players.

The selected coaches will be given formal assistance, observations, guidance and resources to help increase their knowledge of coaching and improve their teaching of the game. In-service sessions will be held specific to the needs of the coaches involved allowing them to expand their knowledge to suit the players and teams they work with.

There is an open application process at present, but would hope coaches would meet the following criteria:

-Minimum coaching qualifications

-Actively coaching with a team

-A member of FA Licensed Coaches Club

-Ideally be working at a Dorset affiliated Charter Standard Club

The project is targeted at all Coaches that are not only passionate about coaching football but improving their delivery. You must have a desire to gain further knowledge and experiment with new methods and techniques to expand your existing understanding, and be open and approachable regarding having your sessions observed.

If you are interested please forward your suitability (football c v) and current role in coaching to Andrew Battison (Senior Development Officer c/o Dorset County FA). Closing date for expressing an interest is 31 January 2012.
