Disability Sport

Active Dorset County Sports and Physical Activity Partnership is committed to working towards increasing inclusion and developing sustainable and accessible sport and active recreation for disabled people in Dorset.

Active Dorset’s aim is to coordinate the development of disability sport across the county, to achieve greater sporting equality by working with a range of partners including National Governing Bodies of sport, voluntary organisations, schools, local authorities and facility providers. We have a database for anyone to access but welcome any club or group informing us of what opportunities they provide for disabled people to access sport and physical activity. Contact Tony Jones-Pert on 01202 966732 or e-mail tjpert@bournemouth.ac.uk

Dorset Disability Sports Forum

Active Dorset has invited various people from a sports development/provider background to form a working group to look at the provision of sport and physical activity for disabled people in Dorset. A couple of meetings have been held and it was agreed to formalise the group, which will be known as Dorset Disability Sports Forum. Terms of Reference and minutes are on the designated page for the Forum
