We are pleased to advise you that the Communities for Health funding stream is now open. The funding has been allocated to each of the six Community Partnerships across Dorset, who will manage the process through their own structures and arrangements. The amount allocated has been calculated and weighted according to the size of the predicted population for 2010 (DCC, 2010) and the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (2007) for each respective District/Borough. This funding is to be used by the Health Action Groups/Forums/Community Partnership towards meeting the four key health and wellbeing priorities as outlined in the Funding Application Pack.
It is expected that the funding will be used by each Community Partnership to fund several projects within the allocation. Alternatively, it can be combined with other funding to enable larger projects to progress, and used to secure matched funding where this is available, as long as it does not delay the start of the work and is within the Funding's timeframe and criteria for use. Funding can be combined to deliver projects with one or more Community Partnerships. It is expected that projects/groups in receipt of the funding will submit quarterly reports, until completion, with a final report, to the Dorset Health and Wellbeing Partnership and to their respective Community Partnership.
Please find attached the Information and Guidance and Reducing Health Inequalities in Dorset for information. As the closing dates will vary across the Partnerships, please contact the relevant Community Partnership for an application form/pack.
Completed application form(s) should be submitted to the relevant Community Partnership by the deadline stated.
