There is a wide range of funding opportunities available for both individuals and organisations from £100 up to £1,000,000+. Amounts and sources change regularly but we endeavour to keep this information as up to date as possible.
We are only attempting to cover information on those opportunities that relate directly to sport and physical activity. The exception is sport specific funds which may be available from some of the National Governing Bodies of Sport.
We have provided information and contacts for the main funding opportunities of which we are aware. Go to the downloads tab on this page to download the latest funding streams in PDF format.
The Community Foundation for Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole
The next round of Comic Relief Funding will open on 1st November 2011 and closing date is the 12th January 2012, the Grants Panel will be held on the 1st February 2012 and applicants will be notified of the outcome after the 17th February 2012.
Projects should be run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with and priority will be given to small, locally based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community. Sports projects are particularly encouraged if they
- increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation
- help people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
Also available is the Dorset County Community Fund, which has been set up to build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector and parish and town councils in order to deliver stronger services and support for local communities.
