150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity a week is the official recommendation for a healthy adult lifestyle.
The activity must be at least moderate intensity which means that you are moving quick enough to raise your heart rate, breathe faster and feel warmer.
The NHS provide physical activity guidelines for adults aged 19-64 years which can be found here.
30 minutes of activity at moderate intensity physical activity on at least 5 days a week helps to prevent and manage over 20 chronic conditions including coronary heart disease, stroke & obesity.
It is also proven that people who are physically active have up to a 50% lower risk of type 2 diabetes, up to a 20% lower risk of breast cancer & up to a 30% lower risk of depression.
